NIB Board of directors toured Turkana County with the aim of being familiarized, to interact with farmers as well as to identify the challenges facing the scheme and projects, farming techniques and the irrigation systems for ease of coming up with measures to mitigate hunger in the region. The visit began on May 13, 2019 in Turkwel Irrigation Project in Loima sub-county and ended on May 16, 2019. Among the places they visited are; Kolioro Nadapal and Lojokobwo irrigation projects as well as Katilu Irrigation Scheme. The scheme and projects are envisioned to alleviate perennial hunger in the region. NIB is committed to achieving Food and Nutrition Security of Nation in line with the Big 4 agenda.

Agriculture and Irrigation CS Hon. Mwangi Kiunjuri accompanied by NIB GM/CEO in an inspection tour of the household and community water pans with a view of assessing their implementation progress. The project is aimed at enhancing water storage at household and community level for Irrigation and domestic use as part of the Big 4 agenda on food and nutrition security.
